Led Complex Project Permitting Effort
Was lead outside counsel for a $1 billion mining project. The project required representation before six state agencies, three towns, two counties, three Native American communities and two federal agencies. It involved the negotiation of mine reclamation rules with representatives of the State, local towns, Native American communities and representatives for 150 environmental groups. The client’s case involved the coordination of 75 experts and issues relating to hydrogeology, toxicology, hydrology, surface stream flow, groundwater modeling, surface water discharges and wild and scenic rivers.
Permitted Square-Mile Landfill
Oversaw the permitting of a new, square-mile landfill that required multiple local, state and federal permits, including a Title V Clean Air Act Permit.
Represented Manufacturer on Large Groundwater Contamination Case in Difficult Political Setting
Negotiated settlements with state environmental agency and politically-connected municipality relating to contamination of drinking water supply.
