Life sometimes just happens. I was lucky. I always wanted to be a lawyer. I didn't know what lawyering was about or what lawyers did, but my grandfather was a lawyer and, even though I never knew him, I have his DNA. When I attended law school at the University of Wisconsin, I learned about civil procedure, contract law, evidence, the Uniform Commercial Code and other electrifying subjects.
